 GERMANTOWN WASTE ORDINANCE

GET THE SCOOP ON POOP

When walking your pet, be sure to scoop the poop.  Pet droppings can be harmful to our environment and can anger neighbors whose yards are a popular spot for pet visits. Germantown ordinance requires owners to scoop poop.
  • Use an empty plastic bag from the newspaper  or grocery bags to remove pet waste.
  • Pull the plastic bag over one hand like a glove.
  • Pick up the poop with your bagged hand.
  • With you other hand, grasp the open end of the bag and pull the bag inside out.
  • Knot the bag and drop it into your trash can.

GERMANTOWN ANIMAL WASTE ORDINANCE

The owner of any animal shall immediately remove any excreta deposited by his animal on public walks, recreation areas, public streets and private property of others.
